Big Girl Room...is she already a big girl??

Here's a preview of Mabelle's big girl room! She LOVES her new big girl bed...it's the best thing ever to her (except for ice cream & cupcakes). She sleeps sideways on it, where her pillows are...Jason keeps joking that she could have a sleepover for 5 of her friends and they could all fit on that bed. Her big girl furniture is pretty large for her small room, but it fits and looks really cute in there--hard to tell in the pics. We are doing sort-of a theme for it....sweets, really her 2 favorites: ice cream & cupcakes. She has her ice cream/popsicle sheets still, and we've added cupcake accents. The canvas artwork is sooo stinking cute (this picture doesn't do them justice), complete with polka-dot edging--courtesy of Headher (also known as Heather ;) ). We still have a few things to hang in her room: her name, polka dots, chinese lanterns (one's sitting on her dresser in the pics), and some pictures. Our only dilemma is where to put all her books (as most of you know, she has an extensive library already started)--it would be cramped to put another piece of furniture in there, so I'm thinking maybe a bookshelf in her closet (since I just cleaned out the crazy toys in there). So excuse the non-finished aspect of the pics, but we wanted to share her sweet new room.

This is looking from the doorway. Yup, that's Miss M lounging on her pink, fluffy beanbag.

35 weeks and a few days ;)

I'll be 36 weeks this Friday...that's a whopping 9 months folks!! So I'm going to the OB on a weekly basis, as of a few weeks ago. All is the same no change to my cervix, which is GREAT! Still having major contractions, some worse than others...and some days better than others. But that's ok, I can handle them as long as the little guy stays put. I'm still at 23 lbs weight gained, and am at the uncomfortable part, with lots of little pains here and there (in addition to those contractions)...but that's part of pregnancy :) We're still on for our January 25th day for the c-section, unless these contractions start to make some changes and then we're on for a little earlier. We'll keep you all updated!! Here's the new pic...I didn't take a 35 week pic with Mabs (must've been too tired and uncomfortable...hahahaha), so no comparison shot this week!

Christmas Eve & Christmas!

I hope this works...eek! Thought a slideshow of Christmas Eve and Christmas might be easier than posting a TON of pics. She had a blast and loved every minute. Santa brought her a fish tank (which he didn't fill with water or fish...we need to), a Dora doll, a Belle ballerina doll, and a stocking full of goodies! She got "quite a bunch" of gifts, and was such a good girl passing them out and waiting to open them. Hopefully, you can see how "exciting" she was:

Update on pics...leading up to Christmas!

Eating white donuts...mmm...

Opening an early gift from her Great-grandparents....Rudolph & Frosty!!

Getting a "package for me" from my fabulous Internet friends ;) They sent us a baby shower gift full of great pirate gifts for the new baby..and even included Mabelle with lots of Princess themed gifts! They are too sweet!

She decided to get in the tote all her gifts came in...

I want gifts, Santa!

We visited Santa today, Mabelle was soo "exciting" to go see him. She walked up to the fenced in area, and stood there...mouth open wide, staring at him. I was sure she wasn't going to even talk to him. Then he started to talk to her, and offered her a candy cane--that was the ice breaker. She walked closer to get the candy cane, he then asked her if she wanted a dolly for Christmas....a Dora Dolly. She said "Yes...Santa, I want gifts". And walked up to him and sat on his lap!!! It was the cutest thing. She then proceeded to tell him that she wanted Princess gifts, and just be a little chatty-cathy with him. She wanted to keep looking at him, and would say cheese real quick and glance at the camera--hence her being a little blurry ;) She hasn't stopped talking about her visit with Santa and the candy cane he gave her. She did ask for her gifts as we left Santa, while she was waving and blowing him sugar...I had to explain the whole elves toy shop to her....

33 Weeks, and BIG update!

Wednesday I had my regular doctor appointment, all looked well. I'm measuring large (on average 1-2 weeks ahead), and the doc thinks this child will be AT LEAST 8-9lbs..Mabs was 7lbs5oz at 41 weeks...so that freaked me out a bit (and proves that I'm much LARGER this time than with Mabs). I've only gained 23 lbs. I also talked to my doc about all these contractions I've been having for about 2 weeks, she said we'd check things out in 2 weeks. And to call if I had more than 4-6 in an hour and they didn't go away with rest and water.

Sssssoooooooooooooo, I started paying attention to them, by counting them and resting. I figured out I have a TON throughout the day (some painful, som just tightening), anywhere from 8-15 in an hour! I tried to relax more after Jason got home, and they wouldn't stop, so I called the doc (LOL! I was resisting). I had to go to the hospital to get observed for a couple of hours (by myself, since Jason had to stay home with Mabs). Turns out, I've started dialating (only a fingertip), but my cervix is not thinning--so I'm ok for now. I'm suppposed to just "take it easy"...no bedrest....YET!

Anyhoo...my c-section is scheduled for Jan. 25th, but with this ornery little guy, I guess we could go sooner. And funny sidenote, I was a fingertip dialated with Mabs at 39 weeks...and never really got much more until I was induced. So this kinda freaks me out.

Not the greatest pics...but with all this rest, it's tough to get up and get purty for my pictures ;)

Just some pics to keep you busy :)

So not a whole lot new here in the Tritten house, we are all doing well. We've gotten some snow, but it's been too chilly to go out and play in it. Mabelle has been watching her movies like crazy lately...Peter Pan, Wizard of Poz, Cinderella...she might go crazy when she sees what new movies Santa is bringing her!! She amazes us all the time, with what she says and how smart she is. She speaks in full sentences, even asking us "What are you going to eat for dinner, Daddy?". Just blows our minds. She loves to sing and dance...and still do everything by herself....ms. independent! She's been throwing some amazing tantrums lately, and we're hoping its from her teeth....hoping....

In case you were wondering, she is a Princess.
And she's Ms. Potato Head...even Mom and Dad were potato heads!!

An amazing hat that my friend, Jenifer, made for Ms Mabelle! You can't see the little stems hanging down from the top...sooo cute! Oh, Christmas Tree, oh Christmas Tree...
Can you see how proud he is that she LOVES this too?!?!
Didn't you know she had bulldogs for sisters and cousins?? Can you see the resemblance...it's the jowls.
Have you ever seen eyelashes that beautiful..besides on Jason?
Talking on the phone and painting her fingernails...I think us girls are rubbing off on him!

Decortaing for Christmas...

Not sure if you know this....but Mabelle LOVES to help and do things "all by myself". So when the Christmas decorations came out a couple of weeks ago, she was all for helping (with no pants, Heather...LOL!)!

She found her Christmas books, and promptly found a queit spot to read them all.
She thought the lights were "sooo pretty".
Cheese...with Mama.
Being ornery with Daddy...
Helping Daddy decorate the tree!
