Feeling better & a special treat

Thanks for all the well wishes, Cash is doing much better. His fever has subsided to a low grade one, and we are now just having fun with the yucky liquid poo/drool rash/up-all-night teething pains. But I'd much rather have this than him being sick!!

He is a sneaky little guy..he opens the pantry, digs in Mabelle's Christmas candy, finds the candy canes, and sucks/chews on the end with the tiniest little hole. Sneeeeeaky (and so smart).
Now, how could I confiscate the candy cane when he gives me this adorable face??

And Mabelle....she had her first dental appt this week, and received an A+ for having NO PLAQUE whatsoever. She has all her baby teeth in, and the dentist was so proud of her for taking such great care of her teeth (with the help of Mom & Dad ;)). So for having a good report from the dentist, she got a special treat (she missed out on a new Barbie, since she cried during one of the exams and refused to do the xrays). What, you ask, was her special treat??? A new recorder!!!!! (why, oh why, did I promise this?! And where did she even hear about a recorder??)
Posing with it...it's hot pink on the tv stand. (and yes, her feet are crossed in this pose)
My pretty little girl, so darn sweet....and loud with her new recorder.

Cash's Year Checkup

We had Cash's one year checkup today, and all is well. He weighs in at 20lbs 14oz, and is 29inches tall (Mabelle was 21lbs at 2years!!!). He'll be able to hold his own against the big "Cashy" really soon ;) He got one vaccination and is almost caught up on them. At a year, he loves to watch tv (i know, i know), loves to play with his big sister, is almost running and babbles quite a bunch. He loves to bang on things like they are drums, and throws everything he can to investigate its sound. He is also a climber, he can scale the stairs in no time flat. He is still the sweetest little baby, and is very much a Mama's boy :) ...and still wakes alot at night, cause he misses me. hahahaha!

The only bummer of our day is that he had diarrhea all over me this morning, a low fever and then vomitted before his nap (so I'm on my 3rd change of clothes today, Cash is on his 2nd). We're praying it's not what Jason had...eek, pray with us.

The Diary of a 'Movement' ;)

Thought you'd enjoy that series of pics :)
p.s. I have more pics of gift opening from all the mailed gifts we have, just trying to get organized, they'll be posted soon!

Birthday Gifts

And the presents (the day after...Daddy was feeling better and got to watch him, I mean Mabelle open gifts! wink wink). And Daddy's feeling so much better now, thanks for all the well wishes!!

Exciting!

I'm sure he's thinking..."just what I wanted!!!! A monster stackable chair!! I love my parents so much, they are the BEST!!"

Unwrapping Weezers gift, one of the few he was able to open by himself, without preschooler interference.

What he would've rather been doing, watching movie credits and dancing...lol!

A CHECK!! Little does she know how many Barbies that would've bought...she would've never let go of it!!

Again thinking..."A BOOK!!! Yessssssssssssssssssssss! I knew Mimi & Papa would come thru with mucho books for me! I *heart* books!!"

And last..."oh, Noelle, you shouldn't have!! But I'm glad you did!"

He loves to push her around on his new ride-on toy. He's the nicest little boy, sharing his toys.

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY, CASH!

Today was Cash's first birthday, and we had a great day-except that poor Daddy woke up with an awful sickness & fever of 102.8....urgent care says an upper respitory infection, we think it is really flu...blah. We cancelled Cash's party, so that we wouldn't expose any of our friends to this sickness, which made us sad but was definitely necessary :(

But with Mimi, Papa, Papa Don, & Grandma Alma here...Cash had a GREAT birthday. We didn't get to open presents, we kept hoping Daddy would feel better to come watch, and he didn't so we'll do that tomorrow and hopefully Daddy will feel better :)...but here was our day!

Waking up and wanting his guitar immediately (thank you cazillion Velardes ;) have more pics of opening those gifts we'll post later!)

Operating the remote while watching tv, he is one talented cookie.

Playing with an empty box :)
Peek-a-boo, Mabelle! Great entertainment, an empty box.
Birthday boy (thanks Jen for sharing C's shirt!!!)

This is how he walks around, with his hands behind his back. Sneaky boy.
Part of the decorations...polka dot garland (for several doorways) & chinese lanterns (didn't finish decorating after we decided to cancel).
Yum...cake!

Another Mimi cupcake masterpiece!!

The cutest face ever...this usually accompanies his goat laugh or woody woodpecker laugh.

Enjoying his big birthday gift...a big ballpit/slide!

Whoa!!

....and he eats cake!!

If you were wondering, Cash LOVES cake! Had his first taste with his birthday cake tonight, and...well, see for yourself :)

Cash's first birthday cake, and first few tastes...
He managed to flip it over...so ornery.
Wanting his bib off, and looking a bit exhausted.

But never too exhausted for a few smiles...

Heading up to his bath, we got a few pics of Mama too :)
Papa was trying to get us to laugh...
That cute face he does...ignore my crazeeeee face.

Mama's view

So one of my sweet, sweet friends said it right when talking about her son...."clingy like a leech". That is not a negative remark, just the honest to goodness truth! And it's a perfect way to describe the phase (oh my, I really hope it's a phase!) Cash is going thru. He wants his Mama all the time, squeals when I walk away, pouts & cries when I won't pick him up...just wants to be attached to my hip, most every waking moment.

Angrily staring me down and bouncing (making a blurry face), begging to be picked up.

Crying to pleeeeeeeeeease pick him up.
Giving up?? Resting his head on my leg...
Hugging my leg, still pleading to be held.

So I then put down the camera and picked my whiney boy up...he immediately stopped crying. I'm wondering if his sister is teaching him a thing or two about dramatics...

Just a pretty girl in her tutu...

(who refused to put a shirt on...why do kids LOVE to be naked??)

Checking the mail.

Heading out to check the mail...

Have you ever seen a little girl soooo excited about Batman and the Joker?? She's been asking everyday to watch The Dark Knight (with Heath Ledger...a tad scary for a 3yr old), so I ordered her a cartoon (couldn't find the rating anywhere online...and clearly on the box it's pg13...grrrrrrrrr).
Hugging it, she's sooo happy to have her own Batman movie! Later while watching the pg13 cartoon (complete with Mama manning the remote, just in case there's a bad part)...she is seen kissing the Joker on the box.

And the 4th Photo Caption is....

Thanks for those who participated in my little game in the previous post (if you haven't gotten a chance yet...skip this post and go to the next one, post your comment, then return here to see if you were right).

Oh, how sad, no one had any faith in my ornery little girl ;) hahahaha!

Here it is:

As she gently patted him on the head, she told him "You're such a good boy, Cashy! Did you know that I'm a Cash that can't talk??"

Sibling love...can you guess the 4th photo caption??

Mabelle's new phase is to be someone else...it started with our friends newborn, baby Alaina. We'd hear "Mama, I'm baby Alaina." Then after a few times of that game, it turned to "Mama, I'm baby Cashy. I'm baby Cashy that can't talk. I'm a baby that walks, but can't talk. I'm baby Cashy, Mom." Although that sounds as cute as can be...after that being repeated to you about 20 times within a 3minute period, you will go nuts and say, "OK!!!!! I thought you were a baby who couldn't talk?!?" Now her being Cash is a-ok, except for the constant reminder of who she is (baby Cashy)....and that she is right on top of Cash, trying to mimic his every mood.....and that she does all the naughty things he likes to do, which causes him to follow her and do those naughty things (i.e. stair climbing, trash digging, practicing drums on the dogs, etc.).

This series of pics is from her being Cashy, a baby that can't talk. First photo..."Mama, I'm Cashy who doesn't talk."

"Okay, Mabelle" "I'm gonna watch Moose, like Cashy...but Mama, I'm a baby that can't talk!"

Photo 3... Trying to keep him right next to her.

Photo 4....YOU tell me what's happening here...leave a comment of your BEST guess :)
and p.s. Many psycho-analysts would say she's being baby Cashy out of jealousy, she wants attention (bologna, she gets more attention than britney spears shaving her head), or some psycho babble like that...but I know my sweet Princess Mabelle, and she wants to be a baby for 2 reasons:
1...so that she doens't get in trouble for doing naughty things, like babies don't get put in time-out or spankings, and
2...so she can do naughty things and get away with it :)

HOLY MOLY...10 days!!??!

It's been 10 days since my last post?!?!? Whaaaaat!!!!!!!! My goodness, folks, the next time that happens someone needs to alert me of this & how unacceptable it is! :)

Well, in the last 10 days, in a nutshell this is what's been happening around here: Daddy came home (YIPPEEEE), been playing alot outside (been high 60s & 70 this weeks, niiiiiiiice), and some major party planning (in case you didn't know, we will have a one year old soon...sniff sniff). Oh yeah, and I also got a professional slr digital camera (its a Nikon, thanks for all the Christmas moolah my wonderful family and the camera info Uncle Chris)!!!!! So I wanted to post some unedited pictures of my beeeee-autiful children, from my new snazzy camera (you might have to click on them to actually see the difference).

My beautiful pre-schooler. Doesn't she look like a big girl?

Finishing her age 5&up princess puzzles. Genius :)

Eating and being ornery...just a normal day for Cash.

So dang cute!!
Ornery little man LOVES the stinking trash can...

He's starting to love books like his sister!! YAY!
