16 hours, 3 dogs, 2 kids...one van.

THE roadtrip was good. The first day we got off to a late start (a day later than expected), with the first of our movers drama (which included them staying til 2am the day before, and not having enough room on the truck for our stuff, and having to return the next day to pick up the rest of it)...and decided to drive 10ish hours, and get the major chunk of the drive out of the way. The kids were GREAT! Mabelle loved the mountains, and I have officially become an expert nurser-while-in-the-carseat mama. They didn't have too many meltdowns, and it was such a beautiful drive. The dogs panted the WHOLE time, and just about made me crazy. But once we got to the hotel for the night, Jason realized that all of a sudden Mabelle had a temp of 102.4. Gave her tyelnol, she was restless all night, and once we got up Monday to finish the last leg of the drive, we realized she still had a high temp, and called our dear friends in Vegas to make us a doc appt for her the next day. She was miserable the last 6 hours of the drive, and whined ALOT. But we understood, since she felt like ca-ca. Got to Vegas early afternoon, and were so relieved to get to our rental house.

Jason driving.
My sweet happy girl on Day 1, watching Ariel, while Cash slept (see him in the mirror) & the dogs panting...fun!
Day 2...sickies invaded. Doesn't she just loooook miserable?
The only thing she would even eat...a donut with....(wait for it)....sprinkles!
No pictures of the mountains...all taken from the car window, since it was evening on Day 1 and we didn't stop and the next day was consumed with sickies. But they were gorgeous, worth the drive!

Well thank God for the FN van! Can you imagine making the trip in your SUV? Poor sick Mabs, she does look miserable. Glad you guys made it safe!
