Easter!!

We had a great Easter, the kids left carrots & their empty baskets out for EB (the Easter bunny)...and big surprise, he ate all the carrots!!! And left great gifts for them, that EB is pretty awesome ;) Mabelle was a little weirded out about EB being in her house (she's a little scared of him, told me she doesn't like people in costumes...I'm thinking EB falls into that category), but she decided she liked him after she saw her basket filled.

After emptying the baskets, we dyed eggs...Mabs loved this but had a hard time being gentle. She kept dropping the eggs into the dye, I thought if only we had some bubble wrap to cushion the eggs as they dove into the cups...but we didn't. Then she dropped one off the table, a red one. Other than that, she did great!

We then went to our friends house and hunted Easter eggs...so much fun!! Came home, finished cooking...ate, then went back to our friends for their dinner too. Oh, we were so stuffed and miserable...in a good way! Thanks Pat, Jime & James!

Easter egg hunt & Pat's birthday!

Our playgroup (that we haven't been to since Christmas) had an Easter playdate, complete with egg hunt. We missed our friends so much, it was great to get together. And the next day was Pat's birthday (our really good friend and James' mom)..so we made her a yummy delicious, gooey butter cake (since we introduced her to dump cake and then puppy chow...we thought we'd keep bringing her the sweets!). She hates me for doing it, but deep down, she loves me more for it :) More slideshows...love them, since I can upload way more pics (and we all know I'm a picture crazy mama).

Back home and the gifts have already started coming! LOL! We received 2 boxes of goodies from Mimi and Papa!! YAY! They love them mucho...and us too...yum snickers...thanks so much!

Roadtrip Reflection...

Home. During the 19day roadtrip (that's almost 3 weeks...WHOA!), I made notes in my phone about every visit we had. I'm so glad I did, it was so much fun but seems like an amazing blur...we did sooo much in our short trip. We are so happy we decided to drive to see everyone, it was well worth any amount of time we spent in the v-ride.

Our trip in a nutshell:
19 days
3700 miles (I rounded up to 4000, cause 3700 is reeeeeeeeally close to 4000)
52 hours in the v-ride
10 states
4 major stops
1 puking incident
Countless numbers of "my butt hurts"

But we had a BLAST...thanks everyone...we already miss you bunches :(

Journal Entry: Roadtrip Day 18-19...Destination HOME!

Heading home. The last two days of the roadtrip were spent driving home. They were definitely the icing on the cake! The drive was gorgeous, and relatively easy. The kids were great, Cash was done, but who wouldn't be tired of riding in a car after 19 days of traveling?!

Here's a summary of our long journey home: Left Kearney an hour late (usual, since we rely on kids as an alarm...always sleep in when we need them to get us up early), saw lots of snow (Mabs wanted to eat it, since Jack on Nightmare before Christmas eats snow....never got a chance to taste it), Nebraska last leg was uneventful and windy, Wyoming was surprisingly pretty, Utah was GORGEOUS, Salt Lake City was bee-autiful (surrounded by snow-capped mountains...breath-taking), and MUCH easier drive thru Wyoming than Colorado (and BONUS no added time, still took us 17hrs to get from Kearney to Vegas).

And even a bigger bonus, we saw more wildlife/animals than we ever expected...crane, cows, horses, alpaca, antelope, mule deer, elk, sheep, deer, and either beavers or baby bears (hard to tell)...but whoa, it was a contest on who could see what animals for most of the drive! Ok...enough rambling...enjoy the bazillion drive home pics!!
