Cash and the Croup

Yeah...we're sick again, or maybe it never went away and morphed into something bigger and badder. Either way, Cash started a little cough yesterday. No biggie. By afternoon it was a raspy, phlegm-y cough, and had me contemplating giving him some kind of cough syrup, instead I went with some Vicks rub before bed. Put both kids in bed by 715, so I could get some rest (from my sickness), by 830 Cash had woken up and was having problems catching his breath. Called Jason (who was working a double) to come home so we could go to the ER. Texted my awesome friend who's a cop to find out where we should go, she recommended the BEST hospital (no wait and awesome staff), even offered to come pick us up and rush us there. But anyways 3hrs later, a Croup diagnosis, a breathing treatment, and some steroids and we were done (with no tears or sleep whatsoever). The nurses and doctors loved Cash, he was laughing, smiling, and making everyone else do the same. Besides his awful breathing and cough, you wouldn't have known he was sick. So our little trooper slept 12-630, and is just as happy as ever today.

So today on Daddy's birthday, we are attacking Croup germs in the house, keeping Mabelle out of his face (which is a VERY hard thing to do), and keeping Cash comfortable.

I snapped some pics of Cash laying in the ER bed (while I tried to get him to nap there).
Of course, the remote kept us happy for the duration of our stay there...he kept holding it up and pointing it at the tv on the ceiling. Such a smart boy.
